Hi Danny To join whole-time or Retained you will need to be 18 years of age. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has now completed its intake of wholetime recruit firefighters. We will not be recruiting for wholetime firefighters until approximately April 2006. Further information will be made available on the website nearer to this time. I've had my workshop unit next door (same building) to your Turners Hill appliance for the last 5 years, and have always been interested in helping with "fundraising" wherever possible - like 3 years ago at Hickstead showground to help 'Firefighters Charity Fund', by providing 'pay n play' Pinball machines & other Amusement equipment to help generate 100% charity funds, and donating my own time and expenses "FREE OF CHARGE". However, whenever I've mentioned that I've not been asked to help at further 1 or more day events, nobody either takes me seriously or really takes any interest in helping our / thier injured & unfortunate colleagues.
